A Texan's Dream Barndominium: Designing a Home that Reflects Your Unique Style and Personality

When designing a barndominium in Texas, there are endless possibilities for creating a space that truly reflects your style and personality. Unlike traditional homes, barndominiums offer a unique opportunity to incorporate rustic charm, modern amenities, and personalized touches into one cohesive design. Here are some tips for designing a Texan's dream barndominium that truly reflects who you are.

First and foremost, consider embracing the natural beauty of Texas. Whether you're in the rolling hills of the Hill Country or the wide-open spaces of West Texas, your barndominium design should take advantage of the scenic views and natural light available. Large windows, natural materials, and outdoor living spaces are just a few ways to incorporate the beauty of Texas into your design.

When it comes to the interior of your barndominium, think big. Texans love their space, and barndominiums can provide ample room for living, working, and entertaining. From a spacious living room with vaulted ceilings to a gourmet kitchen with high-end appliances, your barndominium should feel like a true Texas-sized home. Consider incorporating unique features like a home theater, game room, or even a wine cellar to add that extra touch of luxury.

Customization is key when designing a barndominium that truly reflects your unique style and personality. Work with your designer to incorporate design elements that are important to you, whether that's vintage accents, modern fixtures, or bold color choices. From custom cabinetry to unique lighting fixtures, small details can make a big difference in the overall design of your barndominium.

Another advantage of a barndominium is the multi-use spaces that can serve as both living quarters and workspaces. If you work from home, consider incorporating a home office or studio into your design. For families with children or frequent guests, a loft area or bunk room can provide additional sleeping space while maximizing the overall square footage of your barndominium.

Finally, don't forget the details. From sliding barn doors to rustic finishes, incorporating unique touches can make your barndominium feel like a true reflection of your style and personality. Consider incorporating personal touches like family photos or artwork, or even custom-designed metalwork to add that extra touch of personality to your home.

Being creative is at my core what makes me, me. I started off my career as a national touring artist that played in a country band. We played on average 180 shows a year for five years throughout the United States and Bahamas. In 2006 signed with a label in Nashville, released a few singles, got featured in some magazines (both national print magazines as well as online publications) and in 2013 my single “Stomp” was picked up and featured as The Pittsburgh Steelers game song. On November 17th 2013, one of my dreams came true as I sang The National Anthem and performed my single “Stomp” on the 50 yard line for a crowd of 50,000 plus people at Heinz Field for The Steelers vs Lions game.

While I was on the road touring in 2008 I started a digital marketing business to help other artists out called Nocturnal Music Group. I primarily focused on social campaigns for musicians and bands, driving traffic to their sites but quickly found myself getting into areas that did not involve music and also being contacted for web design as well.

I fell into photography by chance due to a client needing photos and no one being available to do it. After that I was hooked and have been shooting ever since. I’ve shot artists and bands, weddings and engagements, maternity and new borns, models, products and everything in between. I’ve also been featured in magazines both domestic and in 2020 I became an internationally published photographer.
